Hellofresh - Very deceptive website
I finally figured out how incredibly deceptive and unethical this business is and it starts with their website. When I was signing up I thought it was a pretty horribly designed and convoluted website, but I had a free box, so I persevered.
I immediately went and paused my subscription after signing up to get my free box. NO WHERE does it tell you that pausing it is temporary and they automatically unpause it after a few weeks without contacting you in any way. Just like everyone else I was charged for another box over a month after ordering my first one. I thought, "I must have done something wrong" so I went back in and made sure I wouldn't receive any more boxes.
I clicked on "deactivate account" and a window pops up asking if I would like to pause my account. This is where they get ya. Previously I had just selected pause, but this time I decided to fully deactivate my account, and having just been charged for another box, I was pissed. The next window asked if I would like to be contacted by customer service in regards to my issue.
I clicked, "yes" and was prompted that I would be contacted within 2 days to discuss my issue. Little did I know that after going through the entire cancellation process, if you decide you want to contacted by customer service it doesn't complete your cancellation, and doesn't inform you that it wasn't cancelled. They purposely deceive customers with convoluted processes without any transparency.
The sad part is, I actually liked their product, but would literally never give this company another dime. First thing Monday I will be sending them a certified notarized letter of my cancellation, and anything charged to my account will be flagged as fraudulent.
Reason of review: deceptive and convoluted cancellation process.

Thank you. I had a similar problem and wouldn't use their company if it were free.
